-The past is full of individuals
whose achievements in life we would like to emulate.
Don Pedro Pérez Pardo was
born in a Valencian village where the vineyards were the main
source of income, but it was the Spanish Civil War which was
to force him to leave this environment and look for other ways
to maintain his family.
So, after dedicating his whole
life to work, he finally decided to fulful his dream and “create
a winery with its very own vines”, equipped with the latest
technology for the production of wine. He gathered round him
a young highly qualified team which he carefully chose himself.
They have a common aim: to make Enguera Vitivinícola
a model winery within the Valencia Region recognized for the
quality of its wines and the scope of its reputation at home
and abroad.
The Enguera Vitivinícola Winery has created a line of
wines based on the Valencia Region´s vines, such as Monastrell,
Verdil or the ancient Bonicaire, and also some crianza wines
for which we use such well known varieties as Tempranillo, Merlot
and Syrah.
The winery has a cellar built under the bodega itself, with
a capacity for more than a thousand barrels. It is equipped
with all that is needed for the perfect ageing of the wines.
At present,
in our range of reservas and crianzas, we have our own labels,
MEGALA Reserva, and CASTILLO DE ENGUERA Crianza and Reserva.
These wines are matured for the required time in American and
French oak barrels before being bottled and stored in our cellars
where they rest until our oenologists judge when the wine is
just right to be brought out.
Our range of young wines (jóvenes) starts with BONICAIRE,
a red wine which represents the commitment of our winery to
reintroduce ancient varieties currently neglected by our viticulture;
MONASTRELL, from the variety most representative of Spain´s
East Coast; TEMPRANILLO, intense colour and unmistakable aromas,
made from this excellent and prestigious variety; and VERDIL,
a white wine made from the grape of the same name, which is
native to Valencia, characterized by its crispness and aromatic
intensity.
The range is completed by MEGALA VERDIL, the bodega’s finest
young white wine.
